UX or User Experience design includes how the user reacts while navigating the website. For any website to provide a good experience to the users; a UX designer does comprehensive research regarding what the users are looking for while navigating similar websites coupled with testing of the various elements and how people react to certain tasks at hand; and hence the design is changed as per the feedback by users. UX designers also help create a conducive content strategy which is in line with the user experience brands want users to have when they visit the content of a website.

UI or User Interface design incorporates how a particular webpage looks. This plays a significant role in how page content looks, what kind of typography is used, and whether the content shall contain animations or not all the other design choices are made depending upon the niche as well as the needs of the organization.

As a general rule of thumb, in the case of websites, websites must follow a responsive and adaptive design choice thus adapting as per the screen size of the device in which the content is being viewed.
